Membership Types
Levels are customized based on where you are in your career. Multiyear discounts are available to save even more!
Individual
$79 per year ($134/2YR, $162/3YR)-
The applicant must be a professional in the field who does not fall into any other specific membership category (e.g., New Teacher, Student, Retired, or Part-Time Teacher).

This includes individuals who are full-time teachers, administrators, or other professionals involved in the field, who do not qualify for any of the other specialized membership types
Part-time and Adjunct Teachers
$54/YR ($108/2YR, $168/3YR)-
Individuals spending less than 50% of their total employment or less than 20 hours a week instructing or administering languages.
New Teachers
$54 per year ($108/2YR, $168/3YR)-
The applicant must be in their first three years of teaching. Once an individual completes their third year of teaching, they must transition to the appropriate professional membership category.

Only individuals who have completed their academic program and are fully engaged in teaching as their primary professional role are eligible.
Retired
$29per year ($58/2YR, $87/3YR)-
The applicant must be fully retired from the field and no longer engaged in any form of employment or contractual work related to teaching, administration, or other professional roles in the field.

To maintain eligibility, Retired Members must not engage in any employment that would qualify them as active professionals in world language education. This includes teaching, administrative roles, curriculum development, consulting, and any other paid or unpaid work directly related to the field.
Student
$29per year ($58/2YR, $87/3YR)-
The applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program. Must provide the name of your department chair, dean or advisor, their email address, the name of the institution, your graduation date, and your student ID

Full-time enrollment is defined by the institution as at least 12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate students or 9 credit hours per semester for graduate students.

Affiliated Organizations
National, regional, and local nonprofit associations serving the language community are welcome to join ACTFL as an Affiliated Organization. For-profit organizations, schools, universities, and institutions are not eligible. Cost varies based on organization size.
