One can apply for multiple scholarships. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Previous winners of a scholarship are not eligible to apply for the same scholarship.

Grants
This program provides small grants to K-12 educators who are passionate about teaching languages and incorporating cultural elements into their lessons. 100 microgrants of $300 each will be awarded between August 2026 and April 2027.

We provide Research Priorities Grants to ACTFL members for empirical research on six priority areas that are currently critical to improving World Language education. Submissions open each spring.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan subsidizes groups of American students to study Mandarin for 2-4 weeks and experience the culture in Taiwan.

Taiwan Scholarships enable American citizens an opportunity to study undergraduate, master's or doctoral degree programs, at recognized universities in Taiwan. Includes stipends and tuition waivers.
Huayu Enrichment Scholarships enable American citizens an opportunity to undertake Mandarin course at language centers in Taiwan. Includes a monthly stipend.
