So You Say

Each issue of The Language Educator includes a So You Say feature, an area where our readers offer their opinions on topics relevant to language education. The Editor will select representative statements and they will be published in the magazine. Offer your views on the question below. You may enter a message of no more than 150 words. Learning a language provides access to other cultures and their perspectives. How do we ensure that all language learners have equitable access to language learning opportunities and that language educators represent diverse backgrounds? Describe pathways that increase the diversity of language learners and educators. What role do the Seal of Biliteracy and the credentialing of language proficiency play in increasing the inclusion of all language learners—even those not in existing programs? Share examples of effective and inclusive routes to teacher preparation and language learning.
