Comprehension-based Communicative Language Teaching
Welcome to the ACTFL CCLT SIG!
The mission of the Comprehension-based Communicative Language Teaching (CCLT) SIG includes the following:
- To foster among members a better understanding of the role of input and comprehension in the development of language proficiency;
- To share curricular ideas regarding comprehension-based language teaching within the contemporary communicative and proficiency-oriented classroom;
- To explore the development of appropriate assessments and outcome measurements for comprehension-based language teaching;
- To advocate for materials, trainings, and resources that emphasize input and communication in the contemporary classroom;
- To connect with other SIGs (e.g., immersion, technology, language learning for children, LCTL, teacher education, critical and social justice) to explore common ground and promote collaboration.
