ALEXANDRIA, VA—ACTFL is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has approved the release of a new Statement on Diversity and Inclusion in World Language Teaching and Learning.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) acknowledges the success of the third annual Proficiency Assessments Summer Institute. In addition to the regular four-day OPI Assessment Workshops, two MOPI (modified) workshops were added to accommodate the increased demand for proficiency training in the K-12 community.

GUADALAJARA, MEXICO — On Sunday, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) announced a strategic international partnership to expand and enhance foreign language collaboration at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. ACTFL and the Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades (CUCSH) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation initiating a new educational alliance to support academic research, new language assessments, and professional development workshops for language instructors at the University.

To address the ever-increasing professional development needs of the language education community, ACTFL has created the ACTFL Proficiency Assessments Summer Institute. This event will be hosted by Brigham Young University on June 17-20. Taking place in the heart of the beautiful BYU campus in Provo, Utah, ACTFL is offering an extensive array of workshop options.
