First-Time Attendee Stipend
ACTFL sponsors the First-Time Attendee Stipend Award program to provide financial assistance in the amount of $500 plus a per diem meal allowance of $217 will be provided in 2024 (for two and a half days in the city of the convention) to language educators who register for the full 2024 ACTFL Convention.
We invite all language educators who have never attended an ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo to apply. We encourage teachers in their first three years of teaching and teachers with more than three years of experience to apply, as well as individuals who are members of historically underrepresented groups, including but not limited to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQIA+ individuals, individuals with disabilities, and individuals working at Title I institutions and/or with a demonstrated financial need. The deadline to apply is July 17, 2024.
Application Requirements:
- Applicants must be a member of ACTFL valid through November 30, 2024, at the time their application is submitted.
- Applicants must be registered for the Full Convention.
- Applicants must not have previously attended an ACTFL Convention.
