Professional Development plans for K-12 and Post-Secondary Institutions

ACTFL’s Education Department provides customized professional development plans which can include a variety of options to best meet the needs of your institution.

About ACTFL’s Consultants/Professional Development Facilitators

  • Our facilitators are seasoned, exceptional educators with experience in a wide-variety of world-language teaching topics such as unit design, lesson planning, classroom assessments, using rubrics and providing feedback, the Three Modes of Communication, the World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages, the NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements, and much more. 
  • We select an ACTFL facilitator with expertise in the topic(s) of your choice who collaborates with you to create customized professional development based on the unique circumstances of your institution.
  • Our facilitators are located all across the country. Travel expenses include airfare or mileage, lodging, any additional ground transportation, and per diem/meals.  Travel costs vary based on how far the facilitator must travel to reach your institution. As their schedules permit, we keep in mind both the facilitator expertise and location when choosing an appropriate presenter for your institution.

Below is the current menu of ACTFL professional development services and their fees. You may combine various options to design the professional development plan that is right for your language educators and your institution.


  • We do not have a maximum number of attendees per workshop. Consider partnering with a neighboring institution/school district if needed to share the workshop fee.
  • One-Day/Full-Day: $1,600 fee (plus all facilitator travel expenses)
  • Multi-Day: $1,600/per day (plus all facilitator travel expenses)
  • Curriculum Institute (2-4 days): $3,200 -- $6,400 (plus all facilitator travel expenses)
  • Half-Day: $1,300 fee (plus all facilitator travel expenses)


  • 60 minutes: $250
  • 90-120 minutes: $500

Virtual Learning Module (VLM) Package:

  • Pricing as listed in the ACTFL Store ($39--$179)
  • Bulk Pricing Discount (20+ copies of any VLM): Member Price applied to all copies ordered

Conference Workshop/Session/Keynote:

  • Contact us for a quote – typically billed at either the half-day or full-day workshop rates (plus facilitator travel expenses)

Consultation, Review, and Feedback (not requiring travel):

  • $100/hour

ACTFL Publications for Book Study:

  • Pricing of publications is listed in the ACTFL Store. Bulk order discounts: 20-49 copies of the same publication at $3 off the price, 50+ copies of the same publication for $6 off the price
  • Videoconference sessions with the author(s) can be arranged ($250/hour)
