ACTFL-Sponsored Workshops

ACTFL sponsored workshops feature proficiency based workshops held annually at various locations around the country typically in the Fall and Summer.

For 2014 ACTFL is proud to present our first summer East Coast MOPI hosted by Lexington School District One at Glen Meadow High School in Lexington, South Carolina on August 5-6.  ACTFL’s goal to provide K-12 educators accessibility to this highly valued workshop prior to the start of the school year is now being realized. Plans are underway to expand to other geographic locations and dates every summer.

The benefits of participation in the MOPI workshop are many. As a result of these professional development experiences, language educators are better able to:

  • apply key principles of teaching and testing for proficiency to curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
  • establish program goals in terms of performance outcomes.
  • determine student placement, progress, and performance.
  • articulate within and across language programs.
  • become eligible to apply for OPI certification.
  • become eligible to apply for advancement from Limited Certification (able to test up to Intermediate High).
