ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) Assessment Workshops
ACTFL organizes and schedules OPI Assessment Workshops at different locations across the country. Individual academic institutions may also schedule OPI Assessment Workshops on-site. These workshops introduce participants to the concepts and strategies for assessing functional language ability. OPI and MOPI Assessment Workshops are the first step toward OPI tester certification.

Program Review Services
ACTFL/NCATE
As a member of the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), ACTFL invites individuals to apply to become program reviewers. Program reviewers are trained to examine the reports and data submitted by institutions seeking NCATE recognition of their foreign language teacher education programs.
K-12 Language Programs
ACTFL provides customized consultation and review services to K-12 language programs in the areas of curriculum, assessment practices, program effectiveness, and use of assessment data.

The ACTFL Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages
AAPPL Measure: Assessing, Reporting and Analyzing Performance Outcomes in all three Modes of Communication
- Four separate scores: Interpretive Reading, Interpretive Listening, Presentational Writing, and Interpersonal Speaking/Listening
- Offered in six languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Russian, and Spanish
Latin
ACTFL Latin Interpretive Reading Assessment (ALIRA): The American Classical League and ACTFL have teamed up to develop and offer a test of reading comprehension from ancient Rome through 21st Century online uses.
