Alexandria, VA (July 23, 2013) – The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), a member of the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), which was formerly National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), invites individuals to apply to become program reviewers.  Reviewers are trained to assess reports and data submitted to CAEP by institutions looking for recognition of their foreign language teacher education programs through ACTFL.

A single-day training workshop titled “Building Strength through Effective Teacher Preparation Programs: ACTFL/CAEP Program Reviewer Training” will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013. The presenter of the workshop will be Judith Shrum: Professor Emerita, Virginia Tech and Coordinator for ACTFL to CAEP. The completion of this training will enable reviewers to become members of three-person program review teams. The program reviews are conducted online.
