Forming a new SIG: Spanish for the Professions

The mission of this SIG is to provide a forum for the sharing of research and pedagogy related to the teaching of Spanish for special professional purposes. Goals:

  • To share ideas and approaches to the teaching of these specialized courses
  • To develop a better understanding of the needs of the Hispanic population in regards to professional services in their language
  • To explore linguistic and cultural considerations that need to be addressed in the teaching of these courses
  • To examine career tracks that may benefit from language courses for specific purposes
