ACTFL LIVE!
ACTFL is launching an online radio channel, ACTFL Talk Radio - Promoting Quality Language Education, on BlogTalkRadio.com as a new way of reaching out to the profession.
BogTalkRadio.com is a free service for the listener that allows you to listen to radio shows over the Internet. Listeners can also chat online during the show with the host and other listeners for free. To call in and participate in the radio show, listeners will have to call a New York phone number. You do not have to register to listen to the show or call in, but you do have to register for an account on www.BlogTalkRadio.com/actfl to chat and receive notice of future shows.

I can’t listen at the time the show is scheduled, can I listen to a recording later?
YES, shortly after the show you will be able to listen on the ACTFL Web site. You can also download the recording to a podcast or RSS feed. At this time we do not have a written transcript of shows available. Past shows are not currently removed or archived, but are available to listen to when it is convenient to you.
How can I participate in the show?
You can log onto www.blogtalkradio.com and listen to the show live as long as you have speakers on your computer. You should not call (914) 338-1019 to listen live to the show.
To participate live in the show, you may call (914) 338-1019 during the show to talk with the hosts live. You can also chat online during the show with other listeners and ACTFL. You can post questions to the chat that we’ll try to answer during the show.
Do I have to register on BlogTalkRadio.com?
You don’t have to register to listen live or call in during the show. You also don’t have to register to have a reminder sent to your email address of the show or to download the show to your Google or Outlook Calendar. You do have to register to chat during the show, to be notified of newly scheduled shows or to e-mail ACTFL through www.blogtalkradio.com.
When I register, what user name do I use?
You get the option of choosing your own unique username and this is all that is displayed online.
How was the date and time of the show chosen, were those on the West Coast considered?
In choosing this time we considered the time zone along with our guests schedules’. We were also limited by not being able to schedule shows during the prime-time hours (7-11 pm) until we reach enough listeners to qualify for primetime. Given all that, we chose the best time for the majority of our members and potential listeners.
